![]() ![]() Damage modifiers for enemies and the player are much more convenient than classic multiplier options (I started with 300% damage dealt and 10% damage received to just punch my way through anything but I'm back at 100% for everything to properly pay attention to, learn and enjoy all gameplay mechanics). Hadn't really read anything about the game prior to its release, so I'm just learning about how boss fights are optional (I think I've beaten 2 of them), but I still hope there are major fights to have music tracks like Trace Rising/Apocalypse.Īnyway so far what I love the most about this sequel is the minor quality of life changes it brings. The few music tracks I've heard are quite excellent, still as mysterious as ever but they're less about the creepy factor and more about wonder and adventure, which works well with these environments. So far I've found the melee + boomerang gameplay serviceable, but I never really cared for AV1's gunplay anyway so it's not why I'm here. Hoping there's more on the way, looking at how the skill tree is growing.Īs for the story, just talked to a big statue called Lamassu and that's intriguing enough right now, read a letter from Trace and hopefully there are more ties to the first game's lore like that, explored some parts of the Breach and I was surprised by how bizarre it looks, but it's a nice change of pace as it totally evokes AV1's style. I really like how quickly you unlock fun mechanics like wall climbing, enemy hacking which I upgraded to the highest level as soon as possible, and my best pal the drone. Exploring this world is a cosy experience, which is not what I expected since Axiom Verge 1 is rather disturbing right from the start and quickly made me feel uneasy, but it's just as engaging. ![]() ![]() Really pleased with the 2/3 hours I've put into the game so far. ![]()
